teaching is our passion

WE JUST happen to coach kids how to flip too!

Our Mission Statement and Teaching Philosophy

  • Palouse Empire Gymnastics is dedicated to promoting self-esteem and confidence for each student through the participation and enjoyment of gymnastics and related activities. We are committed to providing an environment which is not only fun, safe and professional, but also captures the essence of childhood!
  • Instructors use drills that introduce the skills in smaller, more achievable goals. Strength and flexibility challenges are presented as well as games and safety drills. Children receive a star chart to track their progress. Once their chart is completed, they may move to the next level.

Classes are designed to not only introduce the young child to the skills in gymnastics, but more importantly to develop coordination for all sports. Children in all classes will experience a variety of challenges in order to develop basic motor skills, strength and flexibility. Learning to listen, follow directions and taking turns are also reinforced concepts in our beginning classes.

Parent Testimonials

I just wanted to tell you guys how much Brooklyn and I miss the gymnastics program there in Moscow.  After checking out three different gymnastics facilities here in Texas, we realize how awesome your facility is and how extra special the gymnastics coaches are there.  I just thought you should know that we miss you :) keep up the great work!
Cami Dean (December 2013)

Oh, where to start...it seems like yesterday we were behind TR Video going to practice and now look how far you've come!  It has been pure joy bringing my girls to a place that I enjoyed when I was younger!  And being able to experience the same sport with the same coaches has been truly awesome!  Thank you for such a great experience and a great coaching staff!  Taylor and Palmer have gained so much, not as athletes, but as girls!  We'll miss you! ~
Shannon McLeun (Moved to Oregon in June 2016 - and has returned to the Palouse and PEG in 2020)

Parent, who's child transferred from another gym:  "I knew this place was going to be different the minute I walked in."
Coach: "Oh, why?"
Parent: " I heard laughter."

"I just wanted to say how much (my daughter) has enjoyed her first taste of competitive gymnastics this year! It's been fun to watch her work hard and grow so much in so many ways over the course of the season. As you said tonight, the lessons of sports extend way beyond the meet or the mat and it's been such a good experience for our girl all around. ...thank you for the positive way in which the gym is run. After watching the meets and the other coaches, we are so thrilled to be in the gym we are and so thankful for the positive energy and encouragement that run throughout the programs.

I am beyond thankful for the countless hours I have spent at the gym and in your program.  You two have built such a special, welcoming, loving, supporting and overall amazing environment for ANY person who comes into PEG...I wouldn't have wanted to spend my formative years anywhere else.

Dear PEG,
You may remember me from the late 90s early 2000s. I was on the boys team. I liked doing pommel horse and probably had a bad attitude sometimes (sorry).
Last week I was boxing with a guy, who noticed my University of Idaho t-shirt and asked where I was from. It reminded me of you, so I thought I would send a quick note to say hello.
PEG is a special place, and I feel lucky to have spent so much time there. Gymnastics isn't something I've continued over the last twenty years, but I think at PEG we approached genuinely hard, and sometimes frightening work from a place of fun. Doing so instilled that hard and frightening are not negative characteristics, but a necessary part of having fun, and I think that has stayed with me. In everything I do I want to have fun, and fun doesn't have to mean unserious. Whether or not something is hard, scary, easy, whatever, if I'm not having fun, I seriously question what I'm doing and why I'm doing it. It's a perspective I appreciate and attribute to hanging around you goofballs so much. Thank you. Truly.
